In today’s world, it is more important than ever to organize and retrieve information quickly and efficiently. With the note-taking software Reflect, this becomes child’s play thanks to artificial intelligence and innovative features. In this article, we introduce you to the software and discuss its strengths and weaknesses.
Lets begin with some Key points of the software:
Backlinks: Easy networking of notes Reflect works with so-called “backlinks”, links between notes that are visible on both sides. This creates a network of relevant notes that makes organizing and finding information easier. This method, already known through “Trilium,” has been perfected in Reflect.AI.
Daily notes and Google Calendar synchronization: There is a note for each day in which to-do entries can be entered. You can also sync your meetings with Google Calendar to directly write corresponding notes. So all your meetings stay organized.
Web clipper and platforms: With a powerful web clipper, content from websites can be easily imported into Reflect. The software is currently available as a web app, iOS app, and iPad app (beta). Advanced users can also access the API.
Security and integration: Reflect places great emphasis on security: The notes are end-to-end encrypted so that only you have access to them. Zapier (unlimited connections) and Readwise are also supported.
Pricing model: Reflect is available for $15 per month or €10 per month (annual payment).
AI Features: Reflect uses specific AI features, like an easy way to summarize long text to one or a few paragraphs, you can also extract action items for a given text which is super useful for long project description. Other AI features like checking grammar , creating an email out of a selected text or even a new blog article? Just mark the text and let Reflect do the rest.
The best thing about this? You can customize all the prompts. What does this mean? Lets say you have a prompt to write an email and would like to add that the mail should be in a friendly dominor. All you have to do is change the „New email“ prompt (or create a new one „Create FRIENDLY email“) and add „please write an email in a friendly manner“ – boom. Reflect now became your personal assistant. It can translate, paraphrase, write mails and entries. However thats not all. You can even let it write counter arguments for a statement for example. It can also answer questions and help you in all kind of search and research work!
Some things are unfortunately still missing:
Expandable AI features: Even though Reflect is already using many great features with AI, as a MemX user I miss some smaller ones, like automatic tagging and linking of different notes and tags and automatically show relevant information. But Reflect is improving a lot nearly daily. Just today ( 06/05/23) a ChatGPT Plugin got introduced!
Missing Windows and Android app: A Windows and Android app is not yet available, which could be a disadvantage for some users.
Conclusion
Reflect.AI is a promising note-taking software that scores points with innovative features such as backlinks and AI functions. Despite some weaknesses such as expandable AI features and missing apps for Windows and Android, Reflect.AI is an interesting option for anyone who wants to organize their notes efficiently. The app developer is also very friendly and promises to deliver the missing features. Did you like this post or do you have questions about Reflect.AI? Let us know, and we welcome your feedback!
